In my previous post on blogging, I explained what blogging is, its advantages and disadvantages, and the difference between a blog and a website.
In this post, I will talk about how to have the right pre-blog launch preparation.
⏺️ Decide on the niche you want to major in.
Is it agriculture, fashion, health, faith, music, or entertainment? Decide on what you want.
It is not just everything that comes to your head that you will publish on your blog. Not at all.
If you are interested in two different things, you may have to own two blogs.
My blog is majorly a Christian Story blog, i can’t fill it with all of this information on writing and blogging. These posts are to answer the questions of my readers. So, please choose exactly what you want to do before you go into blogging.
⏺️ Another thing is that you need to niche down.
Remember I said my blog is for Christian stories?
I will break my own choice of niche this way: Family, Relationship, and Marriage in Faith Fiction
You will rarely find stories on revival on my blog except when I guest post, but I don’t publish many of those kinds of stories on my blog, so I don’t confuse Google.
I primarily guest post the works of people I know who have similar niches and sub-niches to mine, such as Lizzy Oyebola Yakubu, Ife Grace Dada, Glorie Adepoju, and other writers in that niche.
If you want to go into agriculture, is it that you will be using stories, pictures, or writing articles?
Do you want to study plants or animals? Please be specific.
If it is music, is it secular or gospel?
If it is about education, is it that you will be telling people about scholarship opportunities or will you make content available to just encourage people academically?
If it will be a Christian blog, is it for stories and articles or will you be doing book reviews?
If it’s Christian stories, are they about marriage, relationship with God, the Christian walk, or revival? Make your choice.
If you want to do secular stories, it could be fantasy, romance, science fiction, thrillers, e.t.c. Just niche down.
Furthermore, there are times you can bring two sub-niches together, e.g., I write Christian stories that are thrilling yet Christian.
If you love two sub-niches, find a way to bring them together. If you love musical stories and you want to write about relationships, you could put the stories of two people into music and even get to compose a song for your story.
Whatever your choices are, make sure you are precise and that your tagline (a statement that describes your blog) aligns with your niche.
Let me give you examples of some blogs and their clear and precise niches:
de-raconteur.com, gospelbreed.com, and ife-grace.com are all spots for Christian stories.
botapreneur.com is a blog on Health and Fitness.
Kindlepreneur.com is for those who are in Amazon KDP.
The Med Blog, owned by Benedicta Boafo, is a blog that medical students will want to spend their time on.
The Christian Fiction Girl by Nicole Santana, as the name implies, deals with Christian content and stories that encourage you.
I have access to all these blogs, so I know what they have to offer me when I need it.
𝑵𝒆𝒘𝒔𝒇𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒉: 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓.
That is how you can stand out, and Google will be able to help direct online users to your blog.

That way, it will be like doing exercises alongside the teaching.
